One of the UK’s finest cellists champions the neglected 18th-century master Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805) in the company of a star-studded ensemble. Boccherini moved from Lucca to Madrid where he composed a good deal of attractive music for solo cello as well as chamber music for strings; all the music heard dates from the period 1770-2.

On 5th May, Sean Rafferty was joined in the studio by violinist Irène Duval ahead of her performance with the Royal Northern Sinfonia at this year’s Ripon Festival in Harrogate.

Debuts with the Royal Northern Sinfonia
On 7th May, Irène will have her debut with the Royal Northern Sinfonia and Janusz Piotrowicz playing Mozart’s Concerto in A Major n°5.
Debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
On 15th October, Irène made her debut with the RPO and Jamie Philips in Mendelssohn E minor Concerto. The concert took place at the Derngate Theater, Northampton.
Irène is now represented by YCAT.
